4 Best Concussion Supplements That I Used As Part Of My Concussion Treatment To Recover From My Concussion Injury

Here is a list of the supplements I used after my concussion injury in 2019 that significantly helped me recovery.

I am writing this to help others, that may be suffering from post-concussion syndrome, or are at a loss of what to do to alleviate their concussion symptoms, or have recently had a concussion injury, and want to get better as soon as possible.

I understand how hard it is, to not have anyone to understand your injury.

You end up having to do all the research on your own, not knowing what to do anymore.

You've seen doctor, after doctor, and the only thing that they have told you is to "rest until you get better."

Well, 3-6 months later, you've rested, and you haven't recovered at all.

I also understand what it's like to have a concussion injury, and the frustration of doctors not being able to explain anything to you, due to the doctors' lack of knowledge.

You try to explain your visual symptoms. They don't understand.

You try to explain your anxiety symptoms. They think you're crazy.

You try to explain your neck and TMJ issues. They say, well there's nothing we can do.

Well the one thing you do have control of, supplements you can use to potentially increase your rate of recovery.

Read below to find out what I used to recover faster from my concussion injury.

4 Supplements To Support Your Concussion Recovery

1. 99.9% Pure MSM Crystals

All concussion injuries result in whiplash or neck injury. A concussion injury takes 90-100g of force to occur. A whiplash injury takes 10g of force to occur. Neck injuries can have the same symptoms as concussions, such as tension headaches, migraines, tinnitus, and blurry vision. You need to treat your neck injury, as much as you need to treat your head & brain injury. MSM can help by:

  • Supporting the healing of tendons, joints, and ligaments.

  • Reducing problematic scar tissue formations, in order to create more healthy tissue.

  • Reducing excessive inflammation.

2. Pure Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Crystals

Now that we've learned that all concussion injuries result in a whiplash or neck injury, due to the amount of force directed onto the neck. We need to support the healing of the neck with 99.9% Pure MSM Crystals and Pure Ascorbic Acid Soluble Fine Non GMO Vitamin C Crystals.

  • Assists in wound healing, and the formation of collagen. Connective tissues, such as joints, and ligaments, are made out of mainly collagen. MSM + Vitamin C is a recovery combination that you can't dismiss.

  • Anti-oxidation. Vitamin C is a strong anti-oxidant. Oxidation stress around the brain and neck, spine, and nerves, can cause memory issues. Low vitamin c levels in general are known to cause memory issues.

3. Zinc Glycinate

After a concussion the levels of zinc in the body immediately drops significantly. This is because the brain is trying to recover from trauma as soon as possible. The brain and the neck both are trying to utilize zinc to repair themselves. In order to support this recovery, supplementing with zinc may be crucial.

  • Levels of zinc in the body immediately drop to low levels after a concussion injury.

  • Zinc is vital for wound and physical trauma healing, supporting the formation of collagen.

  • Zinc reduces inflammation.

4. Magnesium L-Threonate

Not only is zinc depleted after a concussion injury, but magnesium levels appear to be depleted by at least 50% after a concussion. Magnesium is a very important mineral that has a purpose in over 300 enzymes in the body. Most people are deficient in magnesium, and they should be supplementing magnesium, or eating more vegetables.

However, you don't want to supplement with just any magnesium. Most magnesium supplements are not efficiently absorbed, and can cause diarrhea. Magnesium L-threonate specifically, effectively crosses the BBB(Brain Blood Barrier) and gets the magnesium where it needs to be.

  • Required for nerves, muscles, and energy production to function properly.

  • Regulates your nervous system. Your nervous system after a concussion is in complete shock after a concussion. You may be, chronically, in a sensitive fight-or-flight mode. Magnesium can help you relax.

  • Can reduce migraines and tension headaches, two of the most common conditions after a concussion.

  • Helps with mood and sleep. Depression, mental health conditions, and insomnia, are very common after a concussion. Magnesium can support your mental health and sleep.

Concussion Recovery Supplements

I've researched countless hours, and I've spent thousands on supplements. These are the best concussion recovery supplements that I used to heal my concussion and neck injury.

I can't recommend buying things that simply say "neurogenesis." Things like fish oil and lion's mane are no miracle cures, and not worth the money. Lion's mane and turmeric only provides temporary support, and omega 3 fish oil is unnecessary if you eat fish at least three times a week. Don't buy everything you see on reddit.

The MSM Sulfur + Vitamin C + Zinc + Magnesium protocol is the best supplement combination that I can recommend, based on my own research.

However, none of this is medical advice, and if you have underlying health conditions, consult your doctor before deciding to supplement.

I wish you luck in your concussion recovery journey.

If you are medically cleared to supplement, make sure you are using safe dosages, and start your supplementation as soon as possible.

Early intervention, and early supplementation, can make a difference in your life.
